Hydrogen equipment
Creation of cryogenic complexes for liquefaction of hydrogen, its long-term storage and transportation over railroads and highways began in the sixtieth years of the past century, first of all in connection with wide usage of liquid hydrogen as a fuel for space-rocket systems.
At "Cryogenmash" numerous cryogenic complexes for ground handling of the engines and missile stages, for fuelling of missiles at the launching sites, the facilities for transportation of liquid hydrogen to remote regions were created.
Such complexes may constitute the basis for development of hydrogen power engineering based on unique, non-polluting energy resources - hydrogen.
"Cryogenmash" possesses the indispensable scientific and technical potential, the manufacturing base and vast experience for solution of the task on integrated delivery of the equipment for liquefied hydrogen.
PROCESS EQUIPMENT OF CRYOGENIC COMPLEXES
- Large-tonnage liquefaction plants of capacities from 180 to 700 kg/hour of hydrogen. Hydrogen liquefaction plants with helium refrigerating cycle and turboexpanders. For small consumers of liquid hydrogen designed are the throttle liquefiers of capacity 20 liter/hr.
- Factory-made reservoirs for storage of liquid hydrogen from 5 to 250 m3 in volume;
- Reservoirs of mounting assembly 1400 m3 in volume;
- Hydrogen gasification systems;
- Truck-mounted tanks for hydrogen transportation 25, 45 m3 in volume;
- Railway tank cars for hydrogen 100 m3 in volume. The tank cars are furnished with a valves cabinet and with the devices that ensure safe transportation.
- Systems of cryogenic hydrogen transfer pipelines;
- Hydrogen purification systems, turboexpanders, heat exchangers, valves etc.
- Cryogenic equipment for vapor-gas mixture separation for production of polycrystalline silicon.
At customer's request, the specialists of JSC "Cryogenmash" are always ready to answer all pertinent questions, to prepare technical and commercial proposals for a cryogenic system, or to give information on any interesting aspect of hydrogen equipment.
The cryogenic hydrogen equipment made by JSC "Cryogenmash" is supplied to customers at maximum mounting readiness; it is successfully operated both in Russia and abroad.

The first large-tonnage liquefiers of capacities 180 and 300 kg/hour were elaborated by "Cryogenmash" at the end of the 1960s. The plants that use the electrolysis hydrogen for liquefaction were put into operation at Chirchik Industrial Association "Elektrokhimprom", NIIKhimmash, Sergijev Posad. At three space-vehicle launching sites - Baikonur, Plesetsk and Indian Centre Shar - numerous cryogenic systems developed and manufactured by CRYOGENMASH are being operated.
