Modernization

Cryogenmash offers the services regarding modernization of existing air separation plants.

Modernization may be performed at the obsolete plants that have been operated for 20 and more years, also at the plants that require alteration of technical characteristics.

Modernization may be done in a simplified or more comprehensive manner.

In the course of a simplified modernization the plant is given a modern appearance: all obsolete equipment will be replaced by a new advanced equipment having higher efficiency and production capacity. Thus, the regenerator assembly will be replaced by a front-end purification unit and plate-fin heat exchanger assembly; the turboexpander units will be replaced by turboexpnder-compressor units (TDKA).

A significant portion of the equipment will be retained (first of all, this is true for distillation columns), some equipment will be deleted (loop-type adsorbers, still liquid adsorbers)

The plant will be equipped with a new modern control and monitoring system based on microprocessors (CMS). Improved will be the engineering characteristics of the plant. The life time of such plant will be extended due to modernization by 10-15 years.

In the course of deep modernization the plant obtains only a modern appearance, but this also improves its engineering-and-economical performance. Modified are not only the air purification and cooling assemblies (as with the simplified version), but also, to a significant degree, the distillation assembly. As a rule, an upper column would be replaced; basically new are the flow diagram and the equipment of the argon assembly. The plant will be furnished with modern control and monitoring system CMS. The life time of 20 years is assigned to the plant upgraded in compliance with this version, similar to that of the new up-to-date air separation plants.

Before modernization, all the ASPs shall be subjected to technological and technical examination.
